The petitioner had purchased the land in S.No. 45/3A1A1A presently assigned R.S.No.45/125 admeasuring 180 square meter. At the time of execution, the classification of the said land was shown as "Natham." Now the petitioner intended to sell the property by showing the classification as "Punja" land. The respondents have refused to register the sale deed by pointing out the change in classification. 3. The petitioner to substantiate the classification as “punja” land had relied on the communication dated 16.04.2025 issued by the Revenue Tahsildar, Kariyapatti, to the Sub-Registrar, Kariyapatti, which states that Survey No. 45/125B is not found in the Natham village ac- _________ https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis counts and further states that the said S.No.45/125B is classified as pun- ja. In view of the above, this Court is of the considered opin- ion when the Revenue Department has clearly clarified that the land is classified as Punja, the refusal check slip issued by the respondent refus- ing registration is erroneous and liable to be quashed. _________ https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 5. The impugned refusal check slip dated 23.04.2025 is hereby quashed and the respondent is directed to register the sale deed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.
