(2) Petitioners have sought a direction to Assistant Collector, First Class, Dehradun to expedite hearing of Suit No. 19 of 2019-20. (3) Based on record, learned State Counsel submits that the suit was filed on 19.3.2020 and an interim order, directing the parties to maintain status quo, was passed by the Trial Court on that day itself. Petitioners thereafter sold the land, which was subject-matter of the aforesaid declaratory suit, by a registered sale deed on 9.6.2022. Learned State Counsel further submits that there is huge pendency of cases before revenue courts at Dehradun and timeline, if any, fixed by this Court for deciding the suit would be counterproductive, as due to pressure, Court concerned will not be able to do justice with the parties. He further submits that hearing of other cases, which are much older, would also get derailed. (4) Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, writ petition is disposed of with a request to Court concerned to make endeavour to decide Suit No. 19 of 2019-20 at an early date.
