Sr. No. 30 HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT JAMMU WP(C) No. 3129/2023 Samreen Kaur …. Petitioner/Appellant(s) Through:- None V/s Union Territory of J&K & ors. …..Respondent(s) Through:- Mrs. Monika Kohli, Sr. AAG CORAM : HON’BLE MRS. JUSTICE SINDHU SHARMA, JUDGE ORDER 20.12.2025 1. The petitioner, who was the legally wedded wife of respondent No. 5, has approached this Court to provide adequate security to the life of the petitioner, who has faced brutality, threat and intimidation at the hands of respondent No. 5, his friends, aids and agents including his mother after her solemnizing marriage with him. 2. This Court vide order dated 15.12.2023 directed the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu to take necessary steps for providing security to the petitioner. This petition is pending since 2023 and today, no one has appeared on behalf of the petitioner. It appears that the threat perception of the petitioner had adequately been redressed as she has not approached this Court again for any threat faced by her. 3. Keeping in view the fact that the interim order has already been issued in her favour, as such, there would be no purpose to keep this petition pending. 2 4. Accordingly, this petition is disposed of by directing respondent No. 3 to provide security to the petitioner keeping in view the threat perceptions, if she approaches the office of respondent No. 3.
