This is a petition for initiating contempt proceedings against the respondents for willful disobedience and non-compliance of judgment dated 17.12.2024, passed in LPA No. 167/2021 clubbed with LPA No.137/2021, whereby this Court while allowing the appeals of the petitioners herein passed the following directions:- i. The cancellation of selection vide Government Order No. 127-IND of 2019 dated 28.05.2019 and cancellation of appointment of the appellants vide order No. KVIB/168 of 2019 dated 14.10.2019, which are already declared bad by the Writ Court against which there is no appeal by the State, are quashed. ii. The respondents are directed to take back the appellants in service on the positions they were holding on the date of passing of the orders impugned in the writ petition, within a period of one month from the date of copy of this judgment is served upon the respondents. 03. In response to the contempt notice issued, the respondents have filed the compliance report dated 06.08.2026, and have appended therewith an order bearing No. KVIB/71 of 2026 dated 06.08.2026, whereby the judgment passed by this Court in so far as it directed the respondents to take back the petitioners herein in service on the position they were holding on the date of passing of the orders impugned in the writ petition, has been complied with though belatedly. 04. Rest of the directions only give liberty to the respondents to proceed against the petitioner in accordance with law, and, as such, are not subject matter of this contempt petition. 05. In view of the aforesaid, the proceedings in this contempt petition are closed and the rule discharged with a warning to the respondents to remain prompt in implementing the concluded judgments of this Court. 06. It needs no clarification to say that if the petitioners are still not satisfied by the order issued in compliance with the judgment of this Court they shall be free to work out their remedy as may be available to them in accordance with law. 07.
