CORAM: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE ORDER 19.12.2025 The petitioner prays for initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondent for willful disobedience of the Judgment/Order dated September 28, 2012 passed by the Writ Court in SWP No. 2181/2012 & CMA No. 3339/2012 (Mohd. Iqbal Vs. Commissioner Secretary to Government and others). Vide order, referred to above, the petition preferred by the petitioner was disposed of by the Writ Court with a direction to respondent-Authorities to consider his claim for conversion as ReT in light of the averments made in the petition subject to the rules governing the issue, within a specified time. For, the said order was not complied with, the petitioner was constrained to approach this Court vide this petition. The records show that notice was issued to the respondent as back as on August 23, 2014. Over 11 years have gone by. And, the matter has been put up thereafter before this Court today for consideration. None is present either on behalf of the petitioner to pursue this petition. It appears that that the petition is rendered infructuous with the efflux of time and is, accordingly, disposed of. And, just in case any dispute/cause of action/interest still survives, liberty is granted to the petitioner to move an appropriate application for revival of the proceedings and necessary orders.
