The allegation in the final report is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners had trespassed into the house of the second respondent, attacked her with wooden logs, abused her in filthy language and caused damage to the house of the second respondent. 3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are closely related to the second respondent and in order to maintain peace within the family, the compromise had been arrived at. 4. In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report in C.C.No.180 of 2024 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Karaikudi is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed.
