1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms. Deepshikha learned Chief Standing counsel for the respondent State. 2. The petitioner by this petition has prayed for the following reliefs:-

(iv) Issue any other writ, order or direction in the nature which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper under the circumstances of the case and in the interest of justice. (v) Allow the writ petition with costs in favour of the petitioner."
3. Learned Standing counsel, on the basis of written instructions, has submitted
that the petitioner applied for the post of Constable (Civil Police) in the U.P. Police Recruitment 2023 under the general category, claiming benefit as a dependent of a freedom fighter. He participated in all stages of the selection process. However, he was not selected in the final stage due to low merit. 4. Perused the record as well as the written instructions, which is taken on record. It appears that the selection process was conducted as per the advertisement dated 23.12.2023. The ground taken by the petitioner that he is dependent of freedom fighter and therefore, he ought to have been selected , despite lower merit, is misconceived. 5.
A perusal of the written instructions shows that selection process has been completed and result of the selected candidates have been declared on 13.3.2025 and the same has been forwarded to the head of the Department/Inspector Genera of Police, U.P. Lucknow. The petitioner has failed to secure the required merit. He has been deperformed by the selected candidates. Along with the written instructions, the final result of the petitioner has also been annexed. There is no provision for preparing the wait-list. As per the terms of the advertisement final select list have been prepared strictly on the basis of merit in which the petitioner has deperformed by the selected candidates. 6. The writ petition lacks merit and is accordingly dismissed. Order Date :- 2.5.2025 Madhu D.R/P.S Digitally signed by :- MADHU KUMARI High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, Lucknow Bench
