The matter is amicably settled between the parties. The claimants, herein, and the appellants United India Insurance Company Limited, represented by Mr. Swapan Maji, RM, are present before the Court today. The parties are represented by Mr. K. K. Bhatta, and Mr. D. K. Kalita. It is submitted by both the claimants and the Insurance Company’s representatives that this matter is settled between the parties at an amount of Rs. 31,00,000/-, inclusive of all components as a full and final settlement of the claim. The Insurance Company shall deposit the said amount of Rs. 31,00,000/- within a period of 45 days from today before the Registry of the Gauhati High Court. Failure to deposit the above-noted amount within the stipulated time by the Insurance Company, the above amount would carry an interest @ 7% from the date of filing of the claim petition before the learned Tribunal. From the total compensation amount of Rs. 31,00,000/-; an amount of Rs. 5,00,000/-, each, shall be released and kept in Fixed Deposit Accounts in the Page No.# 4/4 names of claimant No. 2 viz. Miss Mirlin Singnarpi; claimant No. 3 viz. Mirdalin Singnarpi; and claimant No. 4 viz. Miss Klirjir Singnarpi; respectively, with a nationalized Bank/Post Office till they attain the age of majority. Further, an amount of Rs. 2,00,000/-, Rs. 1,00,000/-, Rs. 50,000/-, as well as the balance amount of Rs. 12,50,000/-, shall be released to claimant No. 5 viz. Smti. Bongpi Rongpipi; claimant No. 6 viz. Sri Paniram Singna; claimant No. 7 viz. Miss Durga Singnarpi; and claimant No. 1 viz. Smti. Sunita Teronpi, respectively; by the Registry of the Gauhati High Court upon furnishing of adequate documents for their identification as well as the particulars of their Bank Accounts. Statutory Deposit, if any, made by the Insurance Company being not a part of the amount so settled today; the same be released to the Insurance Company on an application made by it in this connection. The appeal, accordingly, stands disposed of in terms of the amicable settlement reached between the parties. The compromise format signed by the parties is kept on record.
