ORDER 14.08.2025
1. The short grievance projected by the petitioners in the instant petition is that despite working in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, for the last five years on outsource basis, the petitioners are not being extended the benefits of payment of minimum wages in terms of SRO-460/2017 read with S.O. 513 dated 12.10.2022, and though the petitioners repeatedly requested the respondents for extending them the said benefit, yet the respondents did not pay any heed to said requests compelling the petitioners to approach this Court through the medium of the instant petition. Heard counsel for the petitioners and perused the record.
2. Having regard to the nature of the grievance projected by the petitioners in the instant petition and the prayer made thereof, it is deemed appropriate to dispose of the petition at this stage and is accordingly disposed of with the direction to the respondents to consider the case of the petitioners for extending them the benefit under SRO-460/2017 read with S.O. 513 dated 12.10.2022 in case same is applicable to the petitioners and there is no other legal impediment thereto.
3. Let the said exercise be undertaken and concluded within a period of eight weeks from the date a copy of this order is produced by the petitioners before the respondents.
4. Disposed of along with connected CM.
