The petitioner No.1 is widow of Late Lalji while petitioner Nos.2 and 3 are his children. They seek disposal of their application for payment of compensation, as the deceased died as a result of electrocution. Learned counsel for the Electricity Corporation says that the application of the petitioners has been forwarded today to the Electricity Inspector in terms of Section 161 of the Electricity Act, 2003. In view of above, we dispose of this Writ Petition with direction to the Electricity Inspector to conduct the inquiry and submit its report to the competent authority at the earliest, say, within two months and, thereafter, based on the report submitted, the competent authority shall take a decision as to the payment of compensation to the petitioners as per law, but with expedition, say, within six weeks after the receipt of said report.
