JUSTICE PARTHIVJYOTI SAIKIA ORDER 25.06.2025 Heard Mr. K. Thakur, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Bhaskar Sharma, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Assam. This is an application filed under Section 483 of the BNSS, 2023 whereby the petitioner Tushar Taranga Dutta has prayed for release on bail after he was arrested in connection with Jorhat P.S. Case No. 150/2025. 6.89 grams of narcotic drugs were recovered from a person called Bikramjit Das. The allegation against the present petitioner is that he was involved in supplying narcotic drugs. On one occasion, petitioner was granted interim bail by the court below. Thereafter, as directed by the court, he had surrendered before the court and remanded to custody. The petitioner has been complying with the orders of the court. Now, he has completed about 46 days in judicial custody. Under the given circumstances, this court is of the opinion that the petitioner deserves to be released on bail. Therefore, the bail application is allowed. The petitioner Tushar Taranga Dutta, who is in custody in connection with Jorhat P.S. Case No. 150/2025, is allowed to go on bail of Rs.50,000/- with one surety of like amount to the satisfaction of the learned Special Judge, Jorhat. The bail application is disposed of.
