Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC-LKO:19154 Court No. - 18 Case :- WRIT - A No. - 3623 of 2025 Petitioner :- Sushma Pathak Respondent :- State Of U.P. Thru. Prin. Secy. Bal Vikas Evam Pushtahar U.P. Lko. And 3 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Radha Singh Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C. Hon'ble Karunesh Singh Pawar,J. Heard Ms. Pallavi Singh, learned Advocate holding brief of Ms. Radha Singh, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing counsel for the respondents. The petition has been filed with the following main prayer:- "It is most respectfully prayed that this Hon'ble Court may graciously be pleased to issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the opposite parties, particularly opposite party numbers 2 and 3 to consider the application of the petitioner on merit for selection on the post of Anganbadi Karyakatri for Village Gooramahmadpur with Centre Code 9178060305 which find place at Serial No. 77 in the Advertisement No. C-2710 dated 17.12.2024, issued by opposite parties, contained in Annexure No. 2 to the writ petition" Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner fulfills all the eligibility criteria prescribed in Advertisement No. C-2710 dated 17.12.2024, and therefore, she is entitled to be considered for selection to the post of Anganwari Karyakatri on the basis of merit. However, during the verification process, she came to know that her candidature is likely to be rejected on account of a trivial mistake relating to the incorrect entry of the income certificate application number in the application form. It is further submitted that while filling out the application form, due to inadvertence, the petitioner mistakenly mentioned the income certificate application number as '251780010017041' instead of '2517800100174047', meaning thereby that last digit '1' has wrongly been mentioned in place '7'. However, it is stated that the actual income certificate number has been correctly mentioned. Learned counsel for the petitioner, therefore, prays that the petitioner may be permitted to rectify the income certificate application number entered in the Anganwari Karyakatri Form 2024. Learned Standing Counsel has opposed the aforesaid submission. Having perused the record and upon due consideration of the submissions advanced, this Court is of the opinion that the petitioner appears to have committed an inadvertent and unintentional error while filling out the income certificate application number. Permitting her to correct the same would not confer any undue advantage upon her. In the interest of justice, the error deserves to be rectified. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to opposite party Nos. 2 and 3 to permit the petitioner to correct the income certificate application number in the Anganwari Karyakatri Form 2024, provided the selection process has not already been concluded.
