Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC-LKO:18988 Court No. - 18 Case :- WRIT - A No. - 3579 of 2025 Petitioner :- Sangeeta Vishwakarma Respondent :- State Of U.P. Thru. Prin. Secy. Bal Vikas Sewa Ewam Pushtahar Vibhag Lko. And 4 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Ashwani Kumar Singh Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C. Hon'ble Karunesh Singh Pawar,J. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing counsel for the respondent nos. 1 to 5. "1. Quash the order dated 13.02.2025 (Annexure No. 6 of the writ petition) of Child Development Project Officer, Gandas Bujurg whereby respondent no. 3 Child Development Project Officer, Gandas Bujurg has written to the respondent no. 3 i.e. District Magistrate, Balrampur not to allow the application of the petitioner. 2. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus to consider the candidature of the petitioner in furtherance of the representation of the submitted by the petitioner in pursuance of the incorrect entry made in online application contained as Annexure No. 5 to the writ petition. 3. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the Respondents not to cancel the candidature of the petitioner in pursuance of the online application submitted by her, in the interest of justice. 4. Such other order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem, just and proper in the nature & circumstances of the case, also be passed. 5. Allow the writ petition with the cost." Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner applied for the post of Aganbadi Karyakatri; however, due to a typographical mistake, the certificate number was incorrectly mentioned as 241820030024331 instead of 241820030028331 while filling out the application. This was a human error, and rectification of this mistake would not cause prejudice to the state. Learned Standing Counsel, however, submits that as per the relevant government order, the candidature of the petitioner is liable to be rejected in case of any mistake while filling out the admission form. Perused the record. Upon perusal of the record, it appears that changing the certificate number does not provide any undue benefit to the petitioner. It would be too harsh to cancel her candidature solely based on this typographical error, which can be rectified. In view of the above, the petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to respondent no. 4. The respondent no.4 is directed to verify the certificate number in the petitioner’s caste certificate. If the petitioner is not gaining any undue benefit from the correction in the application form, her candidature shall be considered. The recruitment process shall proceed as per the relevant Government Order, and in case the petitioner is finally selected, the online data shall be corrected accordingly.
