Heard. 2. The petitioner had made some complaint regarding illegal cutting of trees. Learned Standing Counsel says that four trees, cutting of which was prohibited had been cut, therefore, a cost of Rs.26,000/- has been imposed. Counsel for the petitioner says that other actions in this regard are also envisaged under the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980 and Uttar Pradesh Protection of Trees Act, 1976. The petitioner may pursue the matter with the higher authorities or seek such other remedy prescribed in law. 3. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition is disposed of.
