Serial No. 75 Supp. List IN THE HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT SRINAGAR WP(C) 2790/2025 CM(7391/2025 SHOWKAT AHMAD KHAN ….. Applicant/Petitioner(s) Through: - Mr. Nissar Ahmad Bhat, Advocate V/s UNION TERRITORY OF J AND K AND ORS. ….. Respondent(s) Through:- CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJESH SEKHRI, JUDGE (ORDER) 12.11.2025. 1. Short grievance projected by the petitioner is that pursuant to E-NIT No. 01 of 2025 dated 03.07.2024, an allotment came to be made in his favour for de-silting and removal of silt from Shala-bugh Wet land Conservation reserve. The petitioner in response to the allotment commenced the work. However, the allegation of the petitioner is that some local inhabitants caused intermittent interruptions which led to the obstruction of the work, obstructing the men and machinery. He approached the concerned SHO, but of no avail. In this connection the Wildlife Warden Wet land division, Kashmir also requested Sr. Superintendant of Police, Srinagar to provide police protection in order to ensure conduct of Government work without any hindrance at the allotted site. However, even this communication have not evoked any response. 2. Having regard to the limited nature of controversy involved and an innocuous prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is admitted to hearing and disposed of at its threshold with a direction to the Sr. Superintendent of Police, Srinagar to look into the matter and provide police assistance to the petitioner, in accordance with law, for smooth conduct of the Government work at the allotted site without any intervention from any quarter.
