Heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. By this petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of the impugned inquiry report, annexed as Annexure No. 1 to the petition. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the inquiry report is perverse and on the basis of the inquiry report, the opposite parties are going to revert the petitioner, however, he clearly admits that till date, no reversion order has been passed as of now. Perused the record. A perusal of the record shows that no final order has yet been passed in the disciplinary proceedings arising from the impugned inquiry report. The writ petition has been filed by the petitioner on the apprehension that he may be reverted in consequence of the said report. However, mere apprehension cannot be a ground for invoking the writ jurisdiction of this Court. In the absence of any final order in the disciplinary proceedings or a reversion order, the petition is premature and not maintainable. In view of the observation made herein above, the writ petition is dismissed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to approach this Court at an appropriate stage, if so required.
