Agrawal Order On Board 13.02.2025 1. In this writ petition, the petitioner is challenging the cancellation of his candidature for the post of Stenographer Grade-III. The facts of the case, in short, is that pursuant to advertisement dated 17.01.2013 issued by respondent No.2, the petitioner along with 17 other candidates applied for the one post of Stenographer Grade – III for District- Koriya. However, none of the 18 candidates including the petitioner were found eligible for the said post, on account of which the entire examination was cancelled, against which this writ petition has been preferred. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the cancellation of the examination for the said post was illegal and not in accordance with law and, therefore, the respondent authorities may be directed to consider the candidature of the petitioner for the post of Stenographer Grade-III. 4. On the other hand, learned State Counsel would submit that since none of the candidates were found eligible for the aforesaid post, therefore, the entire examination was cancelled by the respondent authorities. 5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties, considered their rival submissions made herein above and gone through the materials available on record with utmost circumspection. 3 (WPS No. 2153 of 2017) 6. In the return filed by the State, it has been categorically stated that pursuant to advertisement dated 17.01.2013, a total of 18 applications were received for the one post of Stenographer Grade-III for District Koriya, however, on verification of the received applications, it was found that none of the 18 candidates were eligible for the said post, therefore, the examination for the said post was cancelled and one post of Stenographer Grade-III for District Koriya was not filled up. 7. In that view of the matter, I do not find any merit in this writ petition. It deserves to be and is accordingly, dismissed, leaving the parties to bear their own cost(s). Sd/- (Sanjay K.
