PUBLIC PROSECUTOR The Court made the following: ORDER:- This Criminal Petition, under Sections 480 and 483 of the BNSS, has been filed by the petitioner/A2, seeking regular bail, in Crime No.38 of 2024 of Annavaram Police Station. 2. A case has been registered against the petitioner herein and others for the offences punishable under Section 20(b)(ii)(C), 25 r/w 8(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (for short ‘the NDPS Act’). 2 3. The brief facts of the case are that on 04.12.2024 at 16.00 hours on credible information about the illegal transportation of ganja, the SI of Police along with staff and mediators reached Lothugedda Bridge, Chinpalli Mandal, A.Annavaram and caught hold the accused in the presence of mediators and seized 120 kgs of ganja. 4. Heard. Perused the record. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner/A2 contends that the petitioner is arrested on 04.12.2024 and since he has been languishing in jail and prays to allow the petition. 6. Learned Assistant Public Prosecutor submits that 120 kgs of ganja is commercial quantity and investigation is not completed and some more witnesses are to be examined and prays to dismiss the criminal petition. 7. After careful observation of the material on record and submissions made on behalf of both sides, as the contraband involved in this crime is huge quantity i.e. 120 kgs of ganja and as the petitioner is remanded to judicial custody on 04.12.2025 itself and the allegations made against the petitioner is grave in nature, this Court is not inclined to consider the criminal petition at this stage. 3 8.
