Momo, learned senior counsel assisted by Ms. Diana N., learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr. Deepak Prasad Sahu, learned counsel appearing for the respondents. In view of the limited prayer made in this writ petition and as agreed to by both the counsel appearing for the parties, the present writ petition is being disposed of at the motion stage itself. [2] At the outset, the learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner will be satisfied for the time being if the present writ petition is disposed of by directing the Registrar, Manipur University to consider the objection dated 21.01.2025 submitted by the petitioner to the inter-se-seniority list of Professors of Manipur University as on 01.05.2023 and to finalize the inter-se-seniority only after considering the objection raised by the petitioner. [3] Mr. Deepak Prasad Sahu, learned counsel appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that as the prayer on behalf of the petitioner is confined to consideration of the objection raised KABORA MBAM SAPANA CHANU Digitally signed by KABORAMBAM SAPANA CHANU Date: 2025.05.26 15:52:37 +05'30' Page 2 against the tentative inter-se-seniority list of Professors of Manipur University as on 01.05.2023, he has no objection in disposing of the present writ petition as prayed for by the learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner. [4] In view of the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the parties and on perusal of the record, this Court is satisfied that it will be in the interest of justice to dispose of the present writ petition with the following directions:- (1) The Registrar, Manipur University is hereby directed to consider the objection dated 21.01.2025 submitted by the petitioner to the tentative inter-se-seniority list of Professors of Manipur University as on 01.05.2023 as early as possible preferably within a period of 2 months from today. (2) It is made clear that without considering and issuing appropriate orders in connection with the said objection submitted by the petitioner, the tentative inter-se-seniority list of the Professors of Manipur University should not be finalized, if not already finalized. [5] With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition is disposed of. JUDGE Sapana
