As per the affidavit filed by the Managing Director, HRTC, Shimla, the arrears which are liable to be paid are approximately Rs.100 crores to defray the complete liability and resultant effect is to 610 beneficiaries as such. It has been mentioned that a request has been made to the State Government to provide Rs.20 crores for the first installment to release the arrears in a phased manner. A sum of Rs.50 lakhs is to be paid from own resources which would cover only 23 to 25 beneficiaries per month and installment of Rs.50 lakhs has been disbursed in August 2025 to the employees in descending order of their age as per Annexure A-3. The said disbursement has to be undertaken every month. Counsel has also placed on record another communication dated 18.08.2025 addressed to Sh. Raman Jamalta and Sh. Dheeraj Vashisht, Advocates, by the Managing Director, HRTC, Shimla, that the increase from the monthly release has increased to Rs.1 crore per month to cover more beneficiaries. The matter with the Government is also under consideration for providing Rs.50 crores or in the alternative at least Rs.2 to 3 crores each month to defray the liabilities to be made. Counsel for the State prays for time to file the requisite affidavit of the Chief Secretary, to the Govt. of H.P., in terms of the earlier order.
