Jyotsna Rewal Dua, Judge Gist of petitioners’ grievance was noticed as under in the order dated 30.04.2025 passed in this writ petition: - “Notice. Ms. Menka Raj Chauhan, Deputy Advocate General, appears and waives service of notice on behalf of the respondents. Petitioners contend that they participated in the selection process undertaken by the respondents for engagement of Van Mitra in respect of Kolar Forest Range, Nahan Forest Division. Vide Annexure P-4, they were declared to have been selected as Van Mitra for Lohgarh Beat No.2 and Lohgarh Beat No.5, Sub Division Paonta Sahib, respectively. Learned Deputy Advocate General to have instructions in the matter. List on 06.05.2025.” 2. Pursuant thereto, learned Assistant Advocate General has placed on record documents and submitted that petitioners No.1 and 2 were not selected as Van Mitra for Lohgarh Beat No.2 and Lohgrah Beat No.5, respectively as contended by them. As per final result for engagement of Van Mitra in respect of Kolar Forest Range, Nahan, District Sirmour, H.P., declared on 21.01.2025 (Annexure P-4) where the aforesaid Beats are located, petitioner No.1 was second in the waiting panel for Lohgarh Beat No.1 and petitioner No.2 was first in the waiting list for Lohgarh Beat No.5. It was submitted that Ms.Ekta, candidate selected for the sole post of Van Mitra in Lohgarh Beat No.5 and Sh. Mohammad Ajram Khan, the candidate selected for the sole post of Van Mitra in Beat No.1, have respectively joined against their posts. Copies of joining reports of selected candidates have been placed on record. 3. Since the selected candidates for the posts of Van Mitra in Lohgrah Beats No.1 and 5 have since joined, - 3 - petitioners’ prayer for their appointment as Van Mitra only on the basis of their being in the waiting list panel, cannot be acceded to.
