It appears that the petitioners are co-tenure holders of Minjumla Gata bearing Gata No.44M and opposite party nos.6 to 8 have a land adjacent to them bearing Gata No.43 in the same vicinity and there is some dispute between them. The allegation is that police are facilitating illegal encroachment by opposite party nos.6 to 8 on the land over which the petitioners are claiming title. Relief no.(ii) is that they should be given possession of the said land. Such reliefs can't be considered under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.
