The petitioner is an Assistant Teacher at Pindira Free Primary School, a school under Mongolkot-II Circle of the Purba Bardhaman District Primary School Council. The petitioner is suffering from breast cancer and has already undergone surgery. It appears from the treatment certificate issued by the Tata Memorial Centre that re- surgery of the petitioner is necessary. The petitioner, in view of her such illness, is praying transfer to any school nearer to her residence under the same Council. An application dated January 31, 2025 of the petitioner to the said effect is pending consideration before the Chairman of the Purba Bardhaman District Primary School Council, the respondent no.6 herein. In the said application 2 the petitioner has named five of her preferred schools. Mr. Acharyya, learned Advocate for the said Council, submits on instruction that out of the said five schools, the pupil teacher ratio of two schools would permit the Council to consider the prayer of the petitioner, the said schools are Dharmadanga Prathomik Vidyalaya and Ramkrishna Prathomik vidyalaya. The respondent no.6 is directed to take steps for transfer of the petitioner in one of the aforementioned two schools within a period of two weeks from the date of communication of this order. WPA 4774 of 2025 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs. Since no affidavit has been invited, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.
