Notice on behalf of respondent nos.1 to 4 has been accepted by learned Standing Counsel. Submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the grievance has been made by the petitioner seeking promotion to the post of Sub Inspector, Civil Police in the light of the Government Order dated 6.5.2022. It is urged that the petitioner has already escalated the issue by making representation dated 6.1.2025 before respondent no.2, however the said representation has not yet been decided nor any decision has been taken till date. In view of the aforesaid facts and circumstances and noticing the fact that the grievance of the petitioner is already ceased with respondent no.2 whereby the representation dated 6.1.2025 is already pending, the Court is of the view that no gainful purpose would be served in keeping the petition pending rather ends of justice can be met by directing the respondent No.2 to consider and decide the pending representation. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent no.2 to consider and decide the pending representation of the petitioner dated 6.1.2025, expeditiously preferably within a period of four weeks from the date a certified copy of this order is produced before the authority concerned. It is made clear that the Court has not examined the case of either of the parties on merits and the decision shall be taken by the authority concerned, strictly in accordance with law.
