Also heard Mr. S.P. Choudhury, learned counsel appearing for the respondent Nos.5, 6 and 12. 2. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that by filing this application the applicant seeks stay of the on-going recruitment for the post of Professor in Mathematics Department in particular which was notified on 10.03.2025 Page No.# 3/4 [Annexure-A]. 3. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the applicant, since the year 2016, has been deprived of being promoted to the post of Professor for one reason or the other and, therefore, he has been prompted to challenge the illegal actions of the respondent authorities concerned by filing the connected writ petition, which is pending final consideration till date. Learned counsel for the applicant submits that pending consideration of the connected writ petition, the process of recruitment to the post of Professor in NIT, Silchar in the Department of Mathematics in particular as notified on 10.03.2025 may be stayed. 4. On a pointed query made by this Court to the learned counsel for the applicant as to whether the applicant has applied for the said post, he submits that the applicant has not applied for the same and the learned counsel goes on to submit that even on earlier occasions, for one reason or the other, the applicant was prevented from applying for the said post. Therefore, while the applicant has put to challenge non-consideration of his promotion to the post of Professor in Mathematics since the year 2016, the respondents have yet again issued the recruitment process for the post of Professor in Mathematics on 10.03.2025 and therefore, the same may be stayed. 5. As may be noticed, the applicant himself has not applied for the post in question in terms of the advertisement dated 10.03.2025 and has also failed to demonstrate as to how he was prevented from applying for the post of Professor in Mathematics in the earlier years. Such being the position, this Court is not inclined to stay the recruitment contemplated in terms of the advertisement dated 10.03.2025. Page No.# 4/4 6.
