JUSTICE RAJESH SEKHRI, JUDGE. ORDER 12.12.2025. Case of the petitioner is that passport came to be issued in his favour by the Regional Passport Officer, Srinagar, which was valid until 02.03.2025. There was an error in date of birth of the petitioner on the passport issued to him.On the expiry of his passport on 02.03.2025, he applied for reissuance of passport through online mode on 16.05.2025. He was asked to furnish an affidavit to explain the discrepancy in his date of birth on passport. He submitted the requisite affidavit on 22.05.2025, i.e., on the date of appointment. Grievance of the petitioner is that despite a lapse of more than six months, neither his passport is being renewed nor reissued. Mr. M.S. Reshi, learned counsel for the petitioner, has submitted that it shall be suffice if respondents are directed to consider the reissuance of passport in favour of the petitioner within a stipulated time as per law. His statement is taken on record. In view of the statement made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is disposed of, with a direction to respondent No. 2 to consider the reissuance of passport in favour of petitioner with actual date of birth, as per law, within a period of four weeks from the date copy of this order, along withcopy of the writ petition and annexures are made available.
