Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Standing counsel for respondents. The petition has been filed with the following main prayer:- "To issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus commanding and directing to the opposite parties to consider and grant regular promotion to the petitioner to the post of Assistant Engineer in pay scale of Rs. 15600-39100 with grade pay of Rs. 5400/- from the date, juniors were promoted and accordingly modifying the ad hoc promotion order of petitioner dated 08.08.2024 thereafter to allow all consequential service benefits, including arrears of salary etc, in the interest of justice." Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it would be suffice if respondents are directed to take a decision on the petitioner’s pending representation regarding his claim which is on record as Annexure No. 4 to the petition. Learned Standing Counsel has no objection to this innocuous prayer. Considering the above, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh representation before the respondents within two weeks from today and in case such a representation is submitted, the same shall be decided by the respondents within a further period of four weeks by passing a reasoned and speaking order.
