Today, the matter is listed on Modification Application (MCC No. 02 of 2025) filed by writ petitioners, alleging that respondent nos. 3 and 4 are constructing a ‘Sewage Treatment Plant’ in the bed of River Alaknanda, at Badrinath. 5. This Writ Petition was disposed of vide order dated 28.02.2025 by directing Secretary, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Government of Uttarakhand, to constitute a Committee, consisting of three senior officers named in the order. It was further directed that the Committee so constituted shall visit Badrinath Town and submit a report to the State Government, within six months. 6. Learned State Counsel has produced in Court, office memo dated 14.05.2025, issued by Secretary, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, which is taken on record. 7. Perusal of said office memo reveals that a ‘Six Member Committee’ has been constituted in terms of our order dated 28.02.2025, in which, three Officers named in the order are also included. 8. Mr. Pankaj Chaturvedi, Advocate appearing for respondent nos. 3 and 4 submits that by office memo dated 14.05.2025, ‘Members of the Committee’ have been asked to submit report within fifteen days. He further submits that ‘Members of Committee’ are yet to visit Badrinath Town for the purpose of inspection. 9. The contention raised by the writ petitioners, in the modification application, cannot be entertained at this stage, when the Committee constituted in terms of our order dated 28.02.2025 is yet to visit Badrinath Town. We, therefore dispose of present modification application by directing the Committee to look into the issue highlighted by writ petitioners in this modification application and the Committee shall also deal with this aspect in the report to be submitted to the State Government.
