Ajay Mohan Goel, Judge (Oral) By way of this writ petition, the petitioner has approached the Court, inter alia praying for the following reliefs:- “i. i) That a writ in the nature of mandamus may kindly be issued, directing the respondents to hold Review Departmental Promotion Committee and accordingly, consider the case of the petitioner for her promotion to the post of Headmistress with all consequential DAY benefits from the date 35 persons junior to her have been promoted as Headmaster/ Headmistress vide office order dated 10.12.2025 (Annexure P-2) and justice be done.” 2. When this case was taken up for consideration today, learned Deputy Advocate General has handed over to the Court 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment? 2 office order dated 23.02.2026, issued by the Director of School Education, Himachal Pradesh, in terms whereof, the petitioner has been promoted to the post of Headmistress Class II (Non-Gazetted) w.e.f. 10.12.2025 on notional basis. 3. Learned Counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner is going to retire on 28.02.2026. 4. This Court is of the considered view that in light of office order dated 23.02.2026 passed by the respondents, as the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed on her having been promoted to the post of Headmistress Class II (Non Gazetted) w.e.f. 10.12.2025 on notional basis, this petition is allowed with the direction that as from the date of issuance of the office order, actual benefits as accrue to the petitioner be released in her favour forthwith and the promotion be counted for all actual retiral benefits including pension etc. Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any also stand disposed of accordingly.
