Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC-LKO:11105 Court No. - 6 Case :- WRIT - A No. - 2064 of 2025 Petitioner :- Vivek Kumar Respondent :- State Of U.P. Thru. Addl. Chief Secy. Deptt. Of Home Lko. And Another Counsel for Petitioner :- M.P. Raju Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C. Hon'ble Alok Mathur,J.
1. Heard Shri M.P. Raju, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the State-respondents.
2. It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner appeared in the recruitment process for the post of Constable in Civil Police, for which the advertisement was issued on 21.12.2024. The petitioner appeared in the written examination and was declared successful and was again issued another admit card for appearance in the documents verification and physical standards test. The physical test was conducted on 17.01.2025 and the height of the petitioner was found to be 167.5 cms and the difference is less than one centimeter, inasmuch as, had the height been 168 cms, he would have qualified to the next level of the examination.
3. Considering the fact that the difference in height is less than one centimeter and the same is measured physically, there are chances of human error and as interference has already been shown in other matters and the Medical Board is also in operation, let the height of the petitioner be re-determined, for which purposes petitioner is directed to move an appropriate representation before the opposite party no.2- Chairman, Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotions Board, Lucknow, who shall pass necessary orders for re-examination of the height of the petitioner before the duly constituted Medical Board at Lucknow.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner fairly submitted that in case one more opportunity is granted, he would abide by the decision of the said Board and would not agitate the matter any further.
5. With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition is disposed of. Order Date :- 18.2.2025/A. Verma (Alok Mathur, J.) Digitally signed by :- ANURAG VERMA High Court of Judicature at Allahabad, Lucknow Bench
