Petitioner’s candidature for the post of Assistant Statistical Officer was rejected by Uttarakhand Public Service Commission on the ground that computer certificate possessed by him is not as required by the Rules. 3. The rules require that one should have ‘O’ Level Diploma in Computer Science/Computer Application from a recognised Institute. The reason for rejecting petitioner’s candidature is that he do not possess ‘O’ Level diploma as per the rules. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner relies upon Government Order issued by State of U.P. for contending that computer certificate possessed by petitioner is recognized as equivalent to ‘O’ Level Diploma, issued by DOEACC. 5. Learned State Counsel as well as learned counsels appearing for the selecting body are right in submitting that equivalence has to be 2025:UHC:9205 granted by State of Uttarakhand and equivalence, if any, granted by some other State, will not make the petitioner eligible. Thus there is no scope for interference in the matter. 6. Even otherwise also, the selection process is over long back and name of selected candidate, was reportedly recommended to the State Government for appointment, on 24.09.2025. Thus it is now too late in the day to challenge rejection of candidature of the petitioner. 7. The writ petition fails and is dismissed. 8. Pending application (s), if any, stand disposed of.
