The case of the petitioner in nutshell is that she is permanent resident of Jangareddygudem Village and Mandal, Eluru District. There is a small Hindu cremation ground in the village, which was established when the village had less population. However, due to passage of time, the population of the village has increased, schools and colleges had come up and the residents around the burial ground also increased. The grievance of the petitioner is that the residents of the area are facing difficulties due to burial ground and that the residents have given representation to the Respondents in Mee-Kosam in Ramachandrapuram Secretariat, Jangareddigudem on the premise that the burial ground is being constructed in the same place. The petitioner was informed that there is no proposal in the said place for a construction of a cremation ground. 3. However, the grievance of the petitioner that continuing usage of said burial ground, despite there being another burial ground in the outskirts of the village is yet to be resolved. 4. Considering the submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court felt that it is appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with the following direction: The respondents 2 and 3 are directed to consider the representation dated 04.02.2025 and examine the feasibility of closing the burial ground after taking the opinion of all the stakeholders and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible. 5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
