The Writ Petition was filed when the petitioner was on the verge of attaining the age of superannuation. 3. In Government of West Bengal and others vs Dr.Amal Satpathi and others the Hon’ble Supreme Court held that the grant of promotion to an employee who was superannuated before his promotion cannot be granted. The petitioner has also attained the age of superannuation and his case for grant of any relief directing promotion after superannuation cannot be granted. 4. Considering the same, the Writ Petition is dismissed. without costs.
