Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC-LKO:8351 Court No. - 19 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 1192 of 2025 Petitioner :- Tejaswini Bajpai Respondent :- Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lko. Thru. Registrar And Others Counsel for Petitioner :- In Person Counsel for Respondent :- Gaurav Rastogi Hon'ble Manish Mathur,J.
1. In pursuance of directions issued earlier, Professor U.B. Kiran, Registrar of the University has appeared in person and has placed reliance on the admission prospectus 2024 for Ph.D programme annexed already with writ petition as Annexure No.2. It has been stated that the aforesaid prospectus has been made in terms of direction issued by the University Grants Commission dated 27.03.2024. She has also drawn attention to the important instructions, particularly paragraph 5 thereof (page 20 of writ petition) to submit that the University is required to take Ph.D admissions in the order, firstly from category one, then from category two and lastly from category three. She has also adverted to the prospectus to indicate on the same page that under category one, firstly the JRF qualified candidates are to be admitted in the Ph.D programme based on interview as per Ph.D Regulations, 2023 applicable upon University and persons from category two would be called only in case all the seats are not filled up from the JRF qualified candidates. It has been stated that due to certain technical glitches, the date for such interviews has not yet been announced and will be done so shortly. It has also been submitted by Registrar that the list appended as Annexure 5 to the writ petition was found to be contradictory and has subsequently been withdrawn and a fresh list will be issued shortly. 2. In view thereof, it has been submitted that since in the present case, there are only eight unreserved seats available for Ph.D admissions in the course concerned, interview will be held firstly under category one and in case there are some seats remaining, the cut off marks for category two for purposes of being included for the
interview process would be announced and in case the petitioner is able to make the cut off, she would necessarily be called for interview which may be scheduled subsequently. 3.
3. In view of submissions advanced by the Registrar of University, petition is disposed of granting liberty to the petitioner to approach this Court again in case her grievance still persists despite steps being taken by the University as per
submissions made today.
