Petitioner applied for the post of Anganwadi Karyakarti pursuant to an advertisement issued on 30.12.2024. Petitioner’s application has been rejected on the ground that she is not resident of the concerned revenue village i.e. Suranshu. 3. Petitioner contends that even though the revenue village of petitioner is different; however, her revenue village is part of same gram panchayat and the children from village Khark, of which petitioner is a resident, are also studying in Anganwadi Centre, Suranshu, therefore, petitioner’s application could not have been rejected. 4. Learned State Counsel, however, has taken the Court to the advertisement and also the Government Order; the condition mentioned in both documents is that one should be resident of the concerned revenue village in which the vacancy is existing. Since the vacancy is existing in revenue village Suranshu, therefore, 2025:UHC:9218 residents of other villages even though very close to village Suranshu cannot be treated as eligible. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the vacancy in question could not be filled and the competent authority has now decided to re-advertise the vacancy. 6. If that is so, the writ petition is disposed of with liberty to petitioner to make representation to the competent authority, to include the residents of revenue village Khark in the zone of consideration for appointment to the post in question. 7. If petitioner makes such representation within one week from today, decision thereupon shall be taken within three weeks thereafter. 8. Pending application (s), if any, stand disposed of.
