Neutral Citation No. - 2025:AHC-LKO:8402-DB Court No. - 2 Case :- WRIT - C No. - 1240 of 2025 Petitioner :- Dileep Singh Respondent :- State Of U.P. Thru. Prin. Secy. Deptt. Of Home And 5 Others Counsel for Petitioner :- Vikas Verma,Akash Singh,Romit Seth Counsel for Respondent :- C.S.C.,Aprajita Bansal Hon'ble Rajan Roy,J. Hon'ble Om Prakash Shukla,J. Heard. After hearing learned counsel for the parties, what comes out is that some disputed electricity bill was generated showing the arrears of about Rupees Eighty Five Lakhs, however, thereafter as informed by the counsel for the District Electricity Corporation, it was found that the bill was erroneous on account of some fault in the meter. The said arrears have been rectified and as per the instructions received by Ms. Aparajita Bansal, learned counsel for the Electricity Corporation, the arrears are only to the extent of Rs.69,515/- which has been communicated to the petitioner on 02.02.2025. The petitioner claims to have been paying the electricity bill regularly otherwise. The petitioner offers to deposit the aforesaid amount of Rs.69,515/- under protest without prejudice to his rights to challenge the said arrears/bill. We permit him to do so and dispose of this petition accordingly with liberty aforesaid to challenge the said bill/arrears. Needless to say, once the arrears are deposited, the electricity connection of the petitioner would not be disconnected, unless there are other reasons for the same. (Om Prakash Shukla,J.)
