This writ petition has been filed by Chaman Lal Mahavidhyalaya, Landhaura, Haridwar, seeking the following reliefs:- (i) To issue an appropriate writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the Respondent University to forthwith grant permanent affiliation to the Petitioner College for the courses inspected in pursuance to the Permanent Affiliation Inspection Letter dated 28.11.2019 bearing reference number 51/SDSUV/Affi/23019-20 Annexure no.-2) from the academic session 2019-20. (ii) To issue an appropriate writ, order or direction and Direct Respondent University to take decision on the issue of the permanent affiliation within a stipulated timelines. 6. According to petitioner, it had applied for permanent affiliation for certain courses to Sridev Suman Uttarakhand University in the year 2019 and inspection was also carried out on 04.01.2020, but thereafter no progress, whatsoever, has been made in the matter. 7. Learned counsel for the University, 2025:UHC:9075 however, submits that at the time of making application, petitioner did not file National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation, therefore, petitioner’s request for permanent affiliation was not considered. He submits that NAAC accreditation was given to petitioner college only in 2023, therefore, petitioner will have to apply afresh for permanent affiliation. 8. According, the writ petition is disposed of with liberty to petitioner to make application afresh for permanent affiliation. If petitioner makes such application, within two weeks from today, the University shall make endeavour to take final decision in the matter, after due inspection, within six months from the date of receipt of such application.
