The petitioner’s father was employed with West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. The father of the petitioner joined his service in the aforesaid company on 7th November, 1983 and expired on 18th April, 2012 being survived by his wife, sister and the daughter, the petitioner herein. The petitioner filed an application in appropriate format on the death of her father seeking for employment on the ground of compassionate appointment and application to that effect have been forwarded to the concerned authority by the mother of the petitioner on
28.05.2012. The Divisional Manager, Uluberia (D) Division received the application dated 28.05.2012 and forwarded to the same to the General Manager
2 (HR & A), West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited on 23rd June, 2012. The learned Advocate representing the petitioner submitted that the candidature of the petitioner in the employment of compassionate appointment had not been considered till date and sought the direction of this Court to disclose the fate of such application. The learned Advocate representing the respondent company submits to have filed an affidavit-in-opposition which, inter alia, stated that the application forwarded by the mother of the petitioner concerning the compassionate appointment to be granted in favour of the petitioner was considered and refused. However, the result of the application with regard to the refusal of the same had not been communicated to the petitioner as a matter of policy. The learned Advocate representing the petitioner is to instruct the concerned respondent company to formally intimate the writ petitioner regarding the result of the non-consideration of the application for compassionate appointment with proper reasons within four weeks from the date of communication of the instant order. The writ petition is disposed of.
