Sarkanda, District Bilaspur Chhattisgarh ... Applicant versus State Of Chhattisgarh Through Station House OfÏcer, P.S. Sarkanda, District Bilaspur Chhattisgarh .... Non-applicant For Applicant : None For Non-applicant : Mr. Amit Verma, Panel Lawyer. Hon'ble Shri Ramesh Sinha , Chief Justice Order on Board 07.03. 2025 1. This is an ofÏce reference. 2. This Court, vide order dated 20.08.2024, passed in MCRC No. 5815 of 2024, while rejecting the bail to the applicant, namely, Sunil Shrivastava had expressed its trust that the trial Court should make an earnest endeavor to conclude the trial expeditiously in accordance with law, preferably within a period of six months, if there was no legal impediment. 3. The learned Additional Sessions Judge (F.T.C.) Bilaspur District- KUNAL DEWANGAN Digitally signed by KUNAL DEWANGAN 2 Bilaspur (C.G.) vide his request letter dated 25.02.2025 has requested for grant of some more time for concluding the trial. 4. It transpires from perusal of the PUD that in this case, the trial Court had recorded statements of 9 witnesses till 21.01.2025 and only 2 witnesses remaining to testify and 1 witness for cross-examination. However, on January 30, 2025, the absconder, Sitaram Meena, was arrested and a supplementary charge-sheet was filed under Section 376(D) of the Indian Penal Code. Consequently, the Sessions Judge transferred the case to the competent Court on February 19, 2025 and after filing of the supplementary charge-sheet, it would be appropriate to frame charges again, against the absconding accused, which may require additional time to conclude the case, therefore, he prays for grant of some more time for concluding the same. 5. The request appears to be reasonable. The concerned trial Court is directed to conclude the trial as early as possible, preferably within a further period of five months from today. 6. Accordingly, this CRMP stands disposed off with the aforesaid direction. 7. Registry is directed to send a certified copy of this order to the trial Court concerned for necessary information and compliance. Sd/- (Ramesh Sinha) Chief Justice Kunal
