The present petition has been filed by the petitioner for quashing order passed by the Tehsildar, respondent No. 3 herein dated 21.01.2023, whereby respondent No. 4 has been appointed as Lambardar of Village Sandrot, Tehsil Dansal, District Jammu and further commanding the respondents to conduct elections for the post of Lambardar for the said village. 2. Official respondents have filed the response, stating therein that the appointment of respondent No. 4 has been made in accordance with the J&K Lambardari Rules, 1980. 3. The order, impugned in this petition had a life of six months and respondent No. 4 is still continuing as Lambardar beyond the said period. 4. In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of by directing the official respondents to hold elections for the post of Lambardar for Village 2 WP(C) No. 1571/2024 Sandrot, Tehsil Dansal, District Jammu within a period of three months from the date a certified copy of this order is made available to the respondents. Till then, respondent No. 4 shall be permitted to continue as Lambardar of aforesaid village. 5. Disposed of.
