Petitioner was appointed as Cooperative Supervisor in the year 1999 and retired from service in the month of January, 2022. By means of this writ petition, he has sought the following reliefs: “1. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing and commanding the respondents to fix the seniority of the petitioner on the basis of basic initial appointment order dated 14.01.1999 passed by the Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Uttar Pradesh on the post of Co-operative Supervisor (contained in Annexure No. 1 to the writ petition) and above the name of the respondent no. 4 in the final seniority list. II. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing and commanding the respondents to pay the arrear of salary with all increments and service benefits equivalent to the salary of junior employee (respondent no. 4) from the date when the junior have been promoted on 06.02.2014 without any technical objections.” 3. Since petitioner has retired long back, therefore direction to fix his seniority cannot be issued at this belated stage. After retirement, petitioner cannot get promotion also. Thus, writ petition has become infructuous. 4. Accordingly, writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.
