The petitioner has impugned the order dated 27.01.2023, whereby the private respondent has been appointed as Lambardar for the Village Kothian. It is contended that the appointment of the private respondent has been made in utter disregard of the J&K Lambardari Rules. 2. The official respondents have filed response, stating therein that the private respondent has been appointed as a Lambardar temporarily to fill the vacant post of Lambardar for Village Kothian. The order has been sent to the District Collector (Deputy Commissioner) Reasi for confirmation. 3. Vide order dated 10.04.2023, operation of the order impugned in this petition was stayed. The private respondent has not chosen to file any response. 4. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the present petition be disposed of with a direction to the official respondents to Serial No. 14 2 WP(C) No. 739/2023 hold the elections for the post of Lambardar for Village Kothian within some stipulated period. 5. The prayer is not opposed by the learned counsel appearing for the respondents. 6. In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of by directing the official respondents to hold the elections for the post of Lambardar for Village Kothian within a period of three months from the date of receipt of this order and till then, the Deputy Commissioner, Reasi shall be at liberty to confirm the temporary appointment of the private respondent within above mentioned period only. 7.
