The petitioner had prayed for initiation of proceedings under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1997, for, the respondents were guilty of wilful defiance of order dated December 31, 2009, passed by this Court in SWP No. 2057/2009 (Bashir Ahmed vs. State of J&K and ors.). 02. The records show that vide interim order dated December 31, 2009, the Writ Court while issuing notice had directed the respondents to comply with the directions issued by the Director, Health Services, Jammu, as indicated in his letter dated March 14, 2009 (ibid.). And subsequently, on January 31, 2011, after the grievance of the petitioner was redressed, the petition filed by the him (SWP No. 2057/2009) was withdrawn. 03. That being so, nothing survives in the petition at hand which has become infructuous and is closed as such. Contempt notices, if any, shall stand discharged.
