For Petitioner : Mr.C.D.Johnson For Respondents : Mr.A.Thiruvadi Kumar Additional Public Prosecutor O R D E R We are deeply disturbed that the detention order of the accused was quashed only owing to the fact that the Accident Register dated 26.07.2024 of the victim as given by the Assistant Professor at GPMCH, Pudukkottai had been improperly translated by the sponsoring authority namely P.Pasupathy, the Inspector of Police, Peravurani Police Station at Thanjavur. It is evident that improper translation has been deliberately done. 2. The Superintendent of Police, Thanjavur, may call for ____________ https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis H.C.P.(MD) No.185 of 2025 explanation from the said Inspector of Police, namely, P.Pasupathy, the then Inspector of Police at Peravurani Police Station, Thanjavur and forward the same to this Court. The Superintendent of Police may note that the offence involved is a very serious offence wherein FIR in Crime No.186 of 2024 had been registered for the offence under Section 376(2)(l) IPC and the victim is a mentally challenged lady. Under such a crucial aspect, the sponsoring authority has given an improper translation of a very crucial document namely, the Accident Register omitting the material aspects of the opinion of the Doctor. The Superintendent of Police may file an independent affidavit regarding the action taken against the Inspector of Police for dereliction of duty. For filing an affidavit by the Superintendent of Police, post this matter once again on 08.10.2025.
