It appears that petitioner's claim for promotion was not considered earlier on account of minor punishment awarded to him under the 1999 Rules. The punishment appears to have been set aside by the State Public Services Tribunal by order dated 09.08.2023. In such circumstances, petitioner's claim for being considered for promotion to the post of Regional Transport Officer as and when fresh proceedings are undertaken in that regard. If the facts as narrated by the learned counsel for the petitioner are correct, then the respondent shall consider the claim of the petitioner for promotion to the post of Regional Transport Officer in the light of the relevant Rules and the criteria evolved for such promotion. Let this be done within three months from the date a certified copy of this order is submitted. All the respondents shall facilitate such consideration by sending the requisite information/records as may be required, with expedition. The writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. .
