The instant writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents to release the gratuity, leave encashment and other retiral benefits of the deceased husband of the petitioner, which have been withheld by the respondents. 2. Mr. Rajesh Sehgal, Addl. AG, Punjab on behalf of the State has appeared in pursuance of the advance notice of the instant petition, having been sent to the respondents. 3. After arguing for some time, learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions from the petitioner, submits that the petitioner would be satisfied at this stage, if a direction may be issued to respondent No.2 to decide the legal notice dated 22.12.2024 (Annexure P-2) in a time bound manner, to which learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made. 4.
