The petitioner, through the medium of present writ petition, has sought a direction upon respondents No.1 to 3 to authorize him for purchase, storage and handling of Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO) on behalf of respondent No.3 at licensed premises at the Assistant Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Leh for resumption of SKO supplies in furtherance of letter dated 24.01.2025, addressed by respondent No.4 to respondent No.2. 2. It has been submitted that the petitioner was getting supplies of Superior Kerosene Oil (SKO) from Indian Oil Corporation Limited, on the basis of authorization given by Serial No. 49 2 WP(C) No.2720/2025 respondent No.3 and this procedure was continuing for the past several years. 3. It has been further submitted that on 24.01.2025, respondent-Indian Oil Corporation Limited addressed a communication to respondent No.3 asking him to authorize the petitioner for purchase, storage and handling of SKO on his behalf at the licensed premises of the said respondent for resumption of SKO supplies but respondent No.3 has not authorized the petitioner. The petitioner in pursuance to the aforesaid letter approached respondent No.3 but no decision has been taken by the said respondent. 4. Learned Senior counsel for the petitioner has submitted that the petitioner would feel satisfied if a direction is issued to respondent No.3 to consider the request of the petitioner for authorization or purchase, storage and handling of SKO on behalf of the said respondent for resumption of SKO supplies to him within a specified period of time. 5. In view of the above, writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3 to consider the aforesaid request of the petitioner in accordance with law and in the light of communicated dated 24.01.2025 of Indian Oil Corporation Limited, most expeditiously, preferably within a period of two weeks’ from the date a copy of this order is 3 WP(C) No.2720/2025 made available to respondent No.3 for information and compliance.
