GP FOR SERVICES I The Court made the following: ORDER: The present writ petition is filed seeking the following relief: “to issue a Writ or Order, more in the nature of Mandamus, declaring the action of the respondents in not releasing and paying sanctioned encashment of balance earned leave and half pay leave through proceedings in Rc. No.A3/355/2023, dated 01.05.2023, of 2ND respondent and the sanctioned group insurance GIS benefit by the 2ND respondent by proceedings No.A3/GIS. Benefits/2024, dated 21.06.2024, as illegal, arbitrary, violative of principles of natural justice, in violation of Articles 14, 16 and 300- A of the Constitution of India and consequentially, direct the respondents to release the aforesaid amounts in an outer time limit with 9% interest and pass….” 2 CGR, J. W.P.No.7047 of 2025 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that after filing the writ petition, Group Insurance (GIS) benefit, as granted by 2nd respondent by proceedings No.A3/GIS Benefits/2024, dated 21.06.2024, came to be paid. So, grievance with respect to the same has been redressed. However, with respect to encashment of balance earned leave and half pay leave, which was sanctioned by the 2nd respondent by proceedings in Rc.No.A3/355/2023, dated 01.05.2023, the same has not yet been disbursed so far. 3. There is no dispute with respect to entitlement of petitioner for aforesaid benefit. 4. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Services-I appearing for the respondents submits that necessary steps would be taken for disbursement of the aforesaid amount in a time bound manner. 5. As the entitlement of the petitioner for encashment of balance earned leave and half pay leave, is not in dispute and the 2nd respondent, by proceedings in Rc.No.A3/355/2023, dated 01.05.2023, has clearly while admitting the same issued sanction order, which is yet to be implemented so far, this Court is inclined to dispose of the writ petition directing the 3rd respondent to disburse the 3 CGR, J. W.P.No.7047 of 2025 amount as sanctioned by proceedings in Rc.No.A3/355/2023, dated 01.05.2023, within a period of 8 (eight) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
