The case of the petitioner is that his father-in-law is threatening to commit suicide if the wife of the petitioner stays with the petitioner. The petitioner has approached this Court seeking production of 2. his wife on the ground that such threats by his father-in-law would amount to illegal detention. 2 Learned Government Pleader has today produced the written instructions of the Station House Officer, Nallapadu Police Station, Guntur District, stating that the officer had enquired in the matter and that the alleged detenue has given a statement that she is living at her father’s house on her own free will and there was no question of anyone forcibly detaining her. He also states that there are some criminal complaints filed by the alleged detenue against the petitioner herein. It may also be noted that the petitioner had also mentioned this in his affidavit. 3. The petitioner also states that the alleged detenue is presently working as Assistant Manager in the G.D.C.C Bank at Guntur. In such circumstances, the contention that the alleged detenue is forcibly detained does not appear to have merit. 4. In the circumstances, this Writ Petition is dismissed.
