Through the medium of this petition, the petitioner seeks quashment of detention order No. PITNDPS 11 of 2025 dated 12.03.2025 passed by respondent No. 2-Divisional Commissioner, Jammu by virtue of which the detenue has been detained and lodged in District Jail, Rajouri, under Section 3 of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 read with SRO 247 dated 27.07.1988. 2. Learned counsel for the respondents submits that, as per record, the impugned detention order was executed on 14.03.2025 and, the maximum period of detention being one year, the same has outlived its life, as such, the present petition has been rendered infructuous. 3. There is no representation on behalf of the petitioner. It appears that, in view of the expiry of the period of detention, the petitioner has chosen not to pursue the present petition. 4. Viewed thus, the present petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous.
